Abstract
A Legendre pseudo-spectral method is proposed for the Korteweg-de Vries equation with nonperiodic boundary conditions. Appropriate base functions are chosen to get an efficient algorithm. Error analysis is given for both semi-discrete and fully discrete schemes. The numerical results confirm to the theoretical analysis. © (2000) John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
