Abstract
A new copper-silver-thiostannate, [enH][Cu2AgSnS4] (1), has been successfully synthesized under solvothermal conditions. Compound 1 features a quaternary two dimensional anionic [Cu2AgSnS4]- layer, where Cu+ ions adopt a trigonal coordination mode and the Ag+ ion has a tetrahedral configuration. The photoelectrochemical studies indicate that 1 is photoactive and exhibits p-type semiconductor characteristics under visible light illumination. © The Royal Society of Chemistry 2014.
