Abstract

Elongated asymmetric core-shell CdSe/CdS nanocrystals allow direct engineering of the electron-hole wavefunction interaction. Besides controlling the spontaneous emission rate this promotes the quantum confined Stark effect, providing insight into surface charge diffusion in single nanocrystals.
