Abstract

The VILOMS software was a user-friendly application tool which allows experimenters to effectively conduct lobe shape mapping and compute a set of 16 shape indexes [1]. Previous works have shown that different conditions of foveal cognitive loading difficulty and priority assignment of attentional resources on peripheral and foveal task affected visual lobe dimensions [2], [3]. The authors hence proposed that different levels of foveal cognitive load would influence lobe shape as well as lobe area. In order to investigate the effects of foveal cognitive load, if any, on visual lobe shape characteristics, the features of VILOMS are enhanced in this project. The newly added features for detailed examination of change of lobe shape characteristics under the influence of task parameters are discussed in the current study.
