Abstract
The filamentous fungus Aspergillus oryzae has been widely utilized for heterologous expression of fungal natural product biosynthetic genes. The A. oryzae expression system has facilitated the elucidation of the biosynthesis of fungal natural products and the production of metabolites derived from cryptic or orphan biosynthetic gene clusters. In this talk, I will summarize our recent efforts in the improvement of the A. oryzae expression system and engineered biosynthesis of fungal natural products in A. oryzae.
