Endoji Meeting Room

Research output: Creative and Literary Works in Non - textual FormRGC 42 - Painting, sculpture, drawing, photograph

Abstract

Endoji Meeting Room was commissioned for Aichi Triennale 2019 to set foot in the neighbourhood of the Endoji Shopping Street in Nagoya. A few members of the community were interviewed and they contributed with their family photo albums. Forty some photos were selected for further study for a specially scripted caption. The final installation was divided into two parts. A few photos were individually framed and displayed in their own shops. Most photos were exhibited in three low table-cum-showcases in an old empty house nearby where eight large portraits of the artists were also displayed as re-enactment of some figures found in these photos.
