Abstract
In the April issue of Chem Catalysis, Fan et al. report an electrolyte engineering strategy that employs halide ions to stabilize Cu+ within Cu2O and thus facilitates multi-step C–C coupling for n-propanol electrosynthesis with a Faradaic efficiency of 44.7% in CO electroreduction. This work offers an effective approach to stabilizing Cu+ in catalysts toward n-propanol production. © 2026 Elsevier Inc.
