Abstract

The demonstration of waveguide wavelength filter with a first order Bragg diffraction grating in epoxy novalak resin (ENR) polymer was presented. The electron beam sensitive ENR exhibited many unique properties, and both the waveguide and the gratings were fabricated using a single exposure of electron beam. The technique eliminated alignment problems and fabrication errors, because fewer processing steps were involved. © 2002, Optical Society of America
