Abstract

An electromagnetic scattering model for a layer of periodically distributed cylinders over a dielectric half space, which takes into multiple scattering up to second order, is developed based on the second order analytical solutions for two adjacent cylinders. By applying the Monte-Carlo simulation technique, the effect of the periodic structure of the cylinder layer on the scattering properties are investigated and the results show that the periodic structure may have great effect on the scattering properties.
