Abstract

Periodically structured Fe 2O 3 films are successfully fabricated by anodizing Fe foils using sinusoidally modulated current waveforms. The fabricated Fe 2O 3 films possess nanopores and long-range structural periodicities which can be conveniently adjusted by tuning the anodization parameters. Strong optical response and vivid film color were readily observed on the fabricated Fe 2O 3 films. © 2012 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
