Effect of structural random damping on structural displacement under excitation of earthquake

    Abstract

    Structural damping which is affected by various factors can be regarded as random variable. The model of seismic ground acceleration is assumed as stationary filtered white noise model, and its mean is assumed to be zero. Based on these premises, effect of structural random damping on structural displacement is analyzed. Through theoretic and practical analysis, it proves that construction structural random damping has effect on displacement of construction structure. Some emphasis should be placed on research on construction structural random damping.
