Effect of parasitic disk on a coaxial probe-fed dielectric resonator antenna

Abstract

The characteristics of the dielectric resonator antenna top loaded by a circular conducting disk with different diameters is studied experimentally. It is found that antenna parameters such as the resonant frequency, the input impedance, and the far-field radiation pattern, are affected tremendously by the conducting disk. Therefore one can tune the antenna parameters by varying the disk size. © 1997 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
