Abstract
The effect of Nb content on the damping capacity of the as-cast Ti-47Al-xNb-2Cr-0.2Mo alloys (at. %) (x = 1, 3, 5, 7) was investigated. The results showed that increasing the Nb content can broadly improve the damping capacity in TiAl-xNb alloys, which profits from the Snoek relaxation. TiAl-3Nb exhibits poorer damping capacity than TiAl-1Nb due to its larger α2/γ lamellar colonies. © 2024 Elsevier B.V.
