Abstract
Dynamic materials modeling for deformation processing of materials is being increasingly applied presently. This Paper deals with the evaluation of deformation process efficiency applying the power dissipation approach for RR58 aluminum alloy using the compression test data. The results obtained are found to correlate very well with the processing map for the alloy, developed earlier based on mechanical properties, microstructure and fracture features of the product. The power dissipation approach is found to offer distinct advantage in quickly assessing the optimum processing conditions for any given material.
