Abstract
A compact dual-band stepped impedance bandpass filter with a defected ground structure (DGS) is proposed. The half-wavelength stepped impedance resonator is adopted to result in two tunable passbands. A DGS is constructed under the two coupling stepped impedance resonators to achieve good passband performance. Compact size and high selectivity is realized with the tap input/output coupling structure. For demonstration, one RF filter operating at 2.45 and 5.2 GHz is designed. Simulated and measured results are provided. © 2008 VSP.
