Abstract
Islanded multi-energy micro-grids (MEMGs) where electric power and heat energy is generated for local loads meet a challenge of uncertainties such as renewable power generation, electric and heat loads. The uncertainties cause electric power and heat energy imbalances, impairing customer thermal comfort and maintenance of system frequency. To address these negative impacts, firstly, this paper proposes an optimization problem of islanded MEMG operation considering thermal comfort and frequency deviation limits. Then, a distributionally robust optimization (DRO) method is applied, which models uncertain variations of net electric and heat loads by predicted intervals. Last, this paper develops specific distributionally robust chance constraints for the proposed optimization problem. The DRO method with the specific chance constraints can guarantee high solution robustness under the uncertainties. Thus, a distribution-ally robust operation method for islanded MEMGs is proposed. Simulations verify that the proposed operation method can achieve a highly robust solution against uncertainty realizations with consideration of thermal comfort and frequency deviations. © 2021 IEEE.
