Abstract

This paper describes the discrete simulation of an inverter-fed synchronous motor drive using the transmission-line modelling (TLM) method. The TLM approach enables the drive model to to developed without setting up any differential equations. Comparison of the TLM and Runge Kutta 2nd and 4th order methods shows that TLM method is more efficient in terms of model derivation and computing time. Examples of simulations are included and they agree well with measurements. © 1995 Taylor & Francis Group, LLC.
