Abstract
A frequency synthesizer using direct memory access (DMA) technique is designed for frequency hopping spread spectrum (FH-SS) communication systems. The frequency synthesizer provides fast channel acquisition by using simple memory table look-up technique. The technique simplify the frequency control process and reduces the channel switching time. As a result, the channel efficiency can be improved.
