Orthogonally polarized photon pairs are directly generated on a CMOS-compatible chip via spontaneous non-degenerate four-wave-mixing between orthogonally polarized pumps, enabled by suppressing stimulated processes. Photon coincidences and optical parametric oscillation are measured.
