Abstract

This paper presents a novel wideband differential-fed higher-order mode patch antenna working at millimeter-wave band. The size of the patch antenna elements have been enlarged by exploiting higher-order mode operation for easy fabrication, lower cost as well as higher tolerance. On each element a slot is introduced to widen the bandwidth. Experimentally, the antenna achieves about 18% impedance bandwidth as well as 9-10dBig gain. The radiation patterns are symmetric and stable.
