Abstract

Cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) are one of major causes of death globally. Circulating microRNAs (miRNAs) mainly exist in exosomes of extracellular vesicles (EV) and could serve as biomarkers for CVDs. Here, we presented a new integrated microfluidic system which is able to perform EV extraction, EV lysis and reverse-transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR). The entire procedure was automatically performed on an integrated microfluidic chip.
