Abstract

This paper presents a dual-band metasurface cavity antenna which hybridizes an X-band open resonator antenna (ORA) and a Ka-band folded transmitarray (FTA) on the same body. The measured results show that the proposed design achieves an effective bandwidth (for the reflection coefficient ≤ -10 dB and the gain variation ≤ 3 dB) from 8.62 to 9.35 GHz for the ORA, and from 24 to 34 GHz for the FTA. The measured peak realized gains at the two bands are 15.5 dBi, and 23.1 dBi, respectively. © 2024 IEEE.
