    Abstract

A tapered five-port star-junction is proposed. The performance is compared to a five-port ring-junction. By comparing the experimental results, the tapered star-junction is found to have wider frequency range and lower transmission loss. The frequency range obtained is 4.7 GHz to 7.8 GHz and the transmission loss is 7 dB.
