Abstract
The 3D FDTD method is first employed to analyze the newly developed broadband U-slot rectangular patch antennas on microwave substrate. The broadband characteristics of dielectric rectangular U-slot patch antennas is investigated. The impedance bandwidth, and far-field radiation pattern are presented and verified by measurement. A good agreement is observed.
