Abstract

Nowadays, electric vehicles have become a prevalent transportation mode for their low cost and zero exhaust gases. Although it reduces air pollution significantly, the range anxiety makes many consumers hesitant about buying a new electric car because the low-energy density of batteries is inconvenient for a long trip. Facing this problem, how to apply advanced technologies to design a new energy management system to alleviate the range of anxiety is a research interest of many researchers. This research designs a new sustainable energy management system and develops a prototypic software for the evaluation. We demonstrate an extended energy informatics framework. Two algorithms, the shortest path problem (SPP) algorithm, and the vehicle routing problem (VRP) algorithm are built to support the decision of our energy management system. We also build a prototype software to demonstrate our new framework.
