Abstract

This paper describes the design and implementation of smart card antennae for longer operational range based on PCB or substrate printed planar antennae. The antennae should be sufficient small and low cost with compatible performance to make the commercialization viable, i.e. suitable for smart card implementation and competitive in the market. We have also conducted substantial researches and hardware implementation of some standard coil antennae for smart card readers to test the effectiveness of the design.
