Abstract

A microstrip bandpass filter (BPF) using a defected ground structure (DGS) is presented in this paper. The introduced DGS filter enables three transmission zeros (TZs) to be realized, and the mechanism of realizing TZs is investigated. Centered at 2.0 GHz, a demonstrator filter is optimally designed, fabricated and examined. Experimental verification is provided and good consistency between simulations and measurements is also observed. ©2008 IEEE.
