Abstract

Bull's-eye! ZnS nanostructures consisting of three intersecting ribbons in the form of a dart-shaped tricrystal were prepared by the thermal evaporation of ZnS powder. The ZnS ribbons have lengths of several tens of micrometers, a growth direction of [221], and a width of 0.5-1 μm (see SEM image). The nanostructure is formed by octahedral nucleation and vapor-liquid-solid growth. (Figure Presented). © 2006 Wiley-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA.
