Abstract

During her strolls through Tokyo, the Urban Beautician observed the wide variety of curb ramps in many streets. Adorned with patterned designs of stars and dots or other decorations, they almost resemble nail extensions in diverse shades of grey, sometimes with a touch of rusty orange.
She enjoyed stepping up and down these slopes and was sometimes wondering about their purpose beyond bringing a skewed angle to a sharp-cornered world. The Urban Beautician felt pity for the ones which were detached and out of place but especially for the broken ramps. Learning about the traditional method to repair and beautify the cracks with Kintsugi, she applied golden dust with fixative to fill the faults, easing the life for some of them.
