    Abstract

This paper uses B-splines to analyze dynamic buckling problems of framed structures subject to coupled initial end torque and second order axial force. Global displacement field is constructed and equation of motion is derived based on Hamilton's principle. The system matrices are formulated based on finite elements. Different bending rigidities in x and y axes are investigated. The end torque is shared in x and y axes as initial stresses. Some new results are obtained. © Civil-Comp Press, 2008.
