Abstract

The whispering-gallery-modes (WGM) structure in interacting spherical microcavities was studied. The micro-photoluminescence (PL) spectra were measured using a RENISHAW micro-Raman system. The spectral position and linewidth of different WGMs were analyzed using Lorenz-Mie theory. The splitting of the WGM resonances is observed originating from bonding and anti-bonding branches of the photonic states.
