    Abstract

The authors regret the following error:
In Section 4.3, in the 11th sentence of the third paragraph, the authors regret that a citation was missing in our published article, which is as follows: Reintjes, G., Fuchs, B.M., Scharfe, M., Wiltshire, K.H., Amann, R., Arnosti, C., Short-term changes in polysaccharide utilization mechanisms of marine bacterioplankton during a spring phytoplankton bloom. Environ. Microbiol. 2020, 22(5), 1884–1900. https://doi.org/10.1111/1462–2920.14971.
The correct sentence should read as follows:
As the bloom progressed, polysaccharides were taken up by large numbers of selfish bacteria (e.g. Gammaproteobacteria, Flavobacteriia) and simultaneously utilized at high rates by external hydrolytic bacteria, resulting in the coexistence of selfish and hydrolytic bacteria, demonstrating that low concentrations of highly complex polysaccharides become specific targets for selfish bacteria (Reintjes et al., 2020).
The authors would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused.
