Abstract
In the originally published manuscript an incorrect 1H-NMR spectra of the [2-(Methacryloyloxy)ethyl]diethy-(3-sulopropyl) (MAEDS) monomer in Figure 1b and its magnified figure (Figure S1a) was presented. Two independent testing agencies have retested the 1H-NMR of MAEDS, and the correct spectra including the carefully modified signal assignments is shown in the corrected Figure 1 and Figure S1a on pages 2 and 3 respectively. The references to extraction of the chemicals from celery and Beta vulgaris L. have also been removed from the new Figure 1. The monomer of cellulose nanofibrils was bought from “Tianjin Woodelf Biotechnology Co., Ltd.” The MAEDS was bought from Aladdin. In addition the specific sulfobetaine used in the work has not been found in natural plants. Therefore, the claim that “all monomers are natural” was incorrect. These errors do not affect the accuracy of the work's scientific conclusions. The authors apologize for these errors and any inconvenience caused.
