Abstract
An organic photochromic material and an organic semiconducting material are combined to produce a "master-slave-type" core/sheath nanocable material in which by switching the photochromic master sheath, the electrical conductance and fluorescence of the semiconducting slave core material can be reversibly tuned. With such nanocables, non-volatile memory devices with both optical and electrical readouts are demonstrated. Copyright © 2011 WILEY-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim.
