Abstract

At the present stage, very little is known as how to control a chaotic dynamic system, particularly a discrete time chaotic system for ssome practical purposes. Despite the negative opinions of researchers on the conventional feedback control techniques for chaotic dynamic systems, we present in this paper some interesting observations, analysis and simulation results on the control of chaotic Henon systems using conventional feeedback control strategies. We demonstrate that the conventioanl feedback approach not only works for discrete-time chaotic dynamic systems, as shown in Chen and Dong (1992) and in this paper, but also applies to continuous-time chaotic systems (Chen and Dong, 1991).
