Abstract

A new approach for chaos control using periodic impulsive parametric perturbations is suggested and applied to suppress chaos in Duffing system. Using the Melnikov's method, it is proved that in the neighborhood of a homoclinic orbit, chaos can be suppressed perturbing impulsively a parameter of the system. A sufficient condition for chaos suppression is derived, and the amplitude and width of the impulsive perturbation applied is numerically obtained. ©2009 IEEE.
