Abstract
Considering spherical or cylindrical cavity in infinite medium, its quasi-statical contraction is studied; inside pressure is progressively made to decrease and material is assumed to be isotropic and homogeneous and to obey coulomb's yield criterion; elasto-plastic solution of problem is given for constitutive equation; formulas are obtained relating radius of cavity, radius of border between elastic and plastic zones, and inside pressure.
