Abstract
This study examined leader’s coaching as an antecedent to employee work engagement and employee proactivity as a consequence of work engagement. Environment uncertainty was hypothesized to moderate the relationship between employee work engagement and proactivity. Data was collected from leaders and subordinate employees. Results revealed that a leader’s coaching is positively related to employee work engagement, which, in turn, is positively related to proactivity. The moderating influence of environment uncertainty was not supported. Theoretical and managerial implications are discussed.
