Connection Constrained 3D Collage

Abstract

In this paper, we present a technique of constructing 3D collages with elements having well defined connections. We show that putting together elements respecting their connection requirement can be formulated as a mixed integer program and solved optimally. To workaround its high computational complexity, we designed an iterative collage construction approach that uses the formulation to construct moderately complex collages. Experiments show that our method is better than the existing method in handling element connections.
