N2 - A conformal-mapping-based coordinate generation method for channel-type configurations has been developed. A channel of an arbitrary shape in the physical plane is mapped into a straight channel in the computational plane. The parameters of the transformation have to be determined through a method of successive approximations. A simple iteration scheme, that converges quite rapidly even with a poor initial guess, is presented. Solutions for different configurations are displayed to illustrate the capabilities of the method. Results of the tests show higher-order accuracy of the method in the case of curved channels. © 1985.
