Abstract
Chinese social networks with global aspirations. Japanese cartoons that know no boundaries. South Korean mobile phones that link continents. In spite of the continuous growth globally of East Asia's communication industries, to many, the mass media in the region remain unknown. This book offers, for the first time in Spanish, a critical overview of the media structure in China, Japan and the Korean peninsula. It analyzes the relationship between the media and political elites, economic agents, social organizations and individuals, using both historical and contemporary perspectives.
