Abstract

The presenters have been co-course leaders of the course, Trial Advocacy, since 2008. The course is a comprehensive one requiring students to conduct:
• An examination in chief, a cross-examination and a closing address in a criminal matter in the District Court
• An opening address, an examination in chief, a cross-examination and a closing address in a civil matter in the Court of First Instance.
Students are assessed from a selection of two of these activities. They are also required to conduct a full trial in the Court of First Instance.
