Abstract
A compact microwave lowpass filter with three transmission zeros is designed using the defected ground structure (DGS). The microstripline section above the DGS region is modified to obtain remarkable slow-wave and bandgap effects. An equivalent lumped L-C circuit model is presented. Reasonable agreement among the simulated, modeled, and measured results is obtained. © 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
