Abstract

A compact microstrip lowpass filter using slow-wave resonator are proposed. The size of lowpass filter is reduced and the stopband between the first and second resonant frequencies is extended due to the loading capacitance. The filter has the characteristics of quasi-elliptic function, and then two transmission zeros in the stopband are realized to enhance the rejection of stopband. A demonstration filter is designed, fabricated and tested. Theoretical and experimental results are presented.
