Abstract

Gonzalez and Munro (1990) presented a new algorithm for the minimal balanced realization of a transfer function matrix. We point out that their algorithm fails generically. We also give an alternative algorithm which is both more general and computationally efficient. © 1991 Taylor and Francis Group, LLC.
