Abstract

China is making significant efforts to develop microwave millimeter-wave communication systems. Many universities of the country, such as University of Electronic Science and Technology of China (UESTC), City University of Hong Kong, and Chinese University of Hong Kong have studied many kinds of microwave and millimeter-wave devices, circuits, and systems for the applications of commercial communications, high-data-rate point-to-point communications, satellite communications, airplane-based communications, space electrical systems, radio astronomy, and radar transmitters. Many Chinese Foundations, such as the Natural Science Foundation, Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST), and National Defense Research have funded many projects on microwave and millimeter-wave theory and techniques. These microwave and millimeter-wave devices, circuits, and systems, broadband microwave and millimeter-wave high-power, and solid-state amplifiers with high efficiency are now widely used in many applications.
