Abstract
The fundamental broadside TM110 mode of an aperture-coupled circular dielectric resonator antenna is studied. By using high-dielectric-constant material, the DR antenna can be made low-profile with a relatively low resonant frequency. The return loss, radiation characteristics, antenna gain and beamwidth of the configuration are measured and discussed.
