Abstract
This paper describes the development and theory of a cascaded position control system for a power transistor driven D.C. motors. The control strategy employs a multiloops feedback control which is aimed to increase the output precision and closed-loop bandwidth. The inner loop is analogue and the output loop is digital. A new control algorithm based on the approach of pole placement is developed and the performance of system is compared with that using self-tuning control. © 1992 IEEE.
