Abstract
The vapor-liquid phase equilibria and planar interfacial properties of quadrupolar fluids were studied. The surface ordering, surface polarization, density profile and surface tension of quadrupolar fluids were determined. It was found that the interfacial molecular ordering can arise entirely due to quadrupole-quadrupole interactions. It was also found that the bulk-phase properties of the quadrupolar fluids satisfy the law of correspondence states.
