Abstract
Animation aspiring to cinematic realism has embraced stereoscopy and the 3-dimensional depth it creates. Abstract animation however often favours 2D atness, which obfuscates spatial relations and thereby underlines the effects of abstraction. Can stereoscopic vision be subverted, and employed in the service of an alternate reality, an expanded abstraction? Can traditional notions of 3D be disrupted to create impossible spaces?
